Expanding on our previous flame retardant products, Innomerix has launched a new FR system designed for high transparency PC. This high performance masterbatch has a low effect on haze and excellent flame retardant properties.
Polycarbonate has long been used for its inherent flame retardance, easily achieving V2 in the UL94 vertical burn test. While this is suitable for some applications, higher levels of FR are often needed. While there are plenty of existing masterbatches that can increase the flame retardancy, often these make the PC hazy or even opaque. This can ruin not only the aesthetics of a part, but also makes it unsuitable for optical equipment.
Our new FR package for PC gives low smoke density, and rapid self-extinguish times. This allows your polycarbonate to meet the toughest FR standards. The reduced flash-over gives excellent performance on glow wire tests. All without compromising on transparency.
Small doses of this masterbatch greatly improve the self-extinguish time of burning polycarbonate. This is an excellent masterbatch for use in electronic devices, building materials and other high clarity uses.
